The TVET of the future starts with real work

Ask any employer in Kenya what is wrong with technical training and you will hear the same answer. Graduates arrive with certificates but without experience. Ask any graduate and you will hear the other half of the story. Nobody will hire them without experience. Both are right, and both are stuck.

IDEA Training Institute exists to break that loop. Our founding idea is simple. Technical education should end in productive work, and the fastest way to get there is to put the work inside the training.

At a conventional college, the sequence is learn, attach, graduate, search. At IDEA it is learn, work, prove, earn. From the first term, our learners spend supervised time on live sites and in working workshops. Every job is assessed. Every assessment builds a record that employers can see.

This changes the conversation for everyone. Learners stop asking how to get their first job, because they have already been doing it. Employers stop gambling on interviews, because they have seen the work. Families can see what their fees are buying.

We are building six schools around the sectors that will shape Kenya's next decade: the built environment, applied computing and AI, business and enterprise, energy and e-mobility, agritech, and health and care technology. Each one is designed with the employers who will hire from it.

That is what we mean by the TVET of the future. Not a new building or a new slogan. A shorter distance between learning a skill and earning from it.
